The standard MediaWiki software disallows many HTML tags - including anything that would allow JavaScript to be added to Wiki pages.  This is important in order to prevent all manner of annoyances and security issues.  However, Wikiid is a private Wiki - only the WikiSysop can create new accounts and only account holders can create or edit pages.  Hence adding support for JavaScript is safe - and adds significantly to the features that can be supported.
